BIOGRAPHY

 

 

I successfully served pupilage at the North West Bar Association (NWBA) in 1999 and in 2000 I went to work for government before joining the NWBA in April 2012 to date.

 

I obtained BProc & LLB from North West University in 1993 and 1998 respectively; Masters in Commerce (specializing in forensic investigations) from North West University in 2008; Post Graduate Diploma in Management from North West University in 2008; Post Graduate Diploma in drafting & interpretation of contracts from University of Johannesburg in 2009 and Certificate in Legislative Drafting from University of Johannesburg in 2010. I am currently studying Masters in Labour Law at the North West University.

 

After serving pupilage I joined the National Prosecuting Authority in April 2000 where I worked as a prosecutor until September 2004. In October 2004 I joined Legal Services of the Office of the Premier as an investigator and prosecutor in the Misconduct unit. In 2006, I worked at Forensic, Fraud and Corruption Unit within the Office of the Premier as an Investigator until I resigned in April 2012 where I became a full member of the NWBA.

 

I acquired experience in various areas of law, including civil law, general litigation, labour law, disciplinary hearings, commercial law and criminal law. I have also acquired skill in due diligence investigations, drafting legislation, drafting contracts, investigation and prosecution. While with the NPA, I conducted training and presentations on various legal topics/legislation including Criminal Procedure Act, Sexual Offences Act, Children’s Act, Older Person’s Act, Child Justice Act.
